Surya seriously injured while shooting on the sets of Tamil film '7aam Arivu' ('The Seventh Sense' in Telugu) being directed by AR Murgadoss. He has been rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. He is said to be out of danger and advised rest. Surya is playing the role of a circus artist. This film is expected to release on 22 April 2011.
7aam Arivu medical thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The venture, produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin, features Surya and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The film score and soundtrack is composed by Harris Jayaraj; Ravi K. Chandran is the cinematographer. The film, which was launched on May 15, 2010 at Hotel Green Park, Chennai, is expected to release in April 2011. A Hindi version is also being planned simultaneously. There will be lot of animation effects in the film, programmed by Stan Winston Studio, the technicians who worked on the special effects of the 2010 film Enthiran. Surya is playing the role of a circus artist. He was specially trained by a circus troupe in Thailand.
While AR Murugadoss is still denying the rumours saying his film with Surya ‘7aam Arivu’ is based on the recently released Christopher Nolan’s Inception we learn the film is no where connected with the Hollywood film. Even Shruthi Kamal who plays the heroine opposite Surya had screamed Murugadoss’ film is an original film.
Sources say ‘7aam Arivu’ is based on a circus artiste and the role Surya plays a trapeze artiste who also doubles up as an animal trainer. The ‘7aam Arivu’ unit is currently shooting at Great Bombay Circus in Coimbatore. It will later go to China to can some scintillating acrobatic scenes with the help of experts there. The range of characters Surya is opting for in recent times is amazing to say least.
